Questions for Counselors

A recurring segment where Joseph and Paula read and respond to listener-submitted questions. These episodes address real-life challenges, personal growth dilemmas, and questions from individuals considering or pursuing careers in counseling. Drawing from both personal experience and professional practice, they offer thoughtful, grounded guidance in an accessible and compassionate way.

Joseph Massy, Host

Joseph began his career in the corporate world working with Fortune 500 companies before the loss of a family member to addiction inspired him to enter the helping profession. Since making that transition, he has worked across the continuum of addiction treatment, including detoxification, inpatient, and outpatient settings, serving adolescents, young adults, adults, and families. In 2009, Joseph established his private practice, where he helps individuals and families navigate addiction, recovery, parenting challenges, anger management, and personal growth. A Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC), Certified Anger Resolution Therapist (CART), and Nurturing Parenting Program Facilitator, Joseph focuses on strengthening relationships, supporting families, and helping clients create meaningful and lasting change. He also serves as co-host of the Life Lived Better podcast and partners with Foundation 45, a nonprofit dedicated to suicide prevention, addiction recovery, and mental health awareness.
